Curriculum Overview

Mavoko Boys' School is a C4 school under the new CBE curriculum offering a structured curriculum that prepares learners for national examinations, further education, and responsible citizenship.

The school is currently transitioning from the 8-4-4 system to the Competency-Based Education (CBE), supporting a more skills-based and learner-centered approach.

Subject Offerings

Languages

English and Kiswahili are both compulsory and examinable, with a focus on communication skills and cultural literacy.

Mathematics

Strong exam technique, ICT integration, and structured support to close performance gaps through group discussion and peer teaching.

Sciences

Biology, Chemistry, and Physics are taught across dedicated laboratories, preparing students for STEM pathways including medicine and engineering.

Humanities

CRE, History & Government, and Geography build critical thinking and civic understanding.

Technical / Home Science

Home Science, Computer Studies, Agriculture, and Business Studies provide strong practical, hands-on learning opportunities.

Academic Achievements

Computer Studies has consistently been the top-performing subject, sustaining a mean of 9.0+ (B+) across recent years.

2025 KSEF (Kenya Science and Engineering Fair) National Qualifiers.

KCSE Performance: Strong KCSE performance in 2022 and 2023, among the school's best academic years. A large number of Class of 2023 graduates proceeded to university.
